Bluebells, Bretton Hall, May 2021Oil on canvas90cm x 60cm It’s now fifty years since I ceased to be a student here, but I still find inspiration whenever I visit; especially when I walk round the Upper Lake, where the bluebells are paticularly abundant this year.

Lockdown Food: GoldfinchAcrylic on canvas board50cm x 40cm A significant feature of lockdown has been feeding the wild birds so that, if the garden is the only place we’re allowed to visit, then at least it’s not deserted. So providing food, and increasing the number of feeders for the birds is a pleasant diversion.
